DIALOGUE IN LONG FORM MOBILE
CONCEPT + DIRECTION
As part of our exploration in how to recreate long form dialogue for mobile, I came up with a technique that borrowed from "pan and scan" (the term for making widescreen adapt to fullscreen back in the day) and took a look at how Facebook and Instagram products behaved. Using this idea combined with the pinning feature in Instagram Stories, my team and I took a snippet from Birdman and applied this technique to create a truly engaging mobile experience for long form dialogue and story.

THE MOST BORING FILMS EVER MADE - 2018 PEOPLE’S CHOICE WEBBY AWARD WINNERTECHNICAL DIRECTION + PRODUCTION, POST PRODUCTION
As part of my work with Facebook Creative Shop Studio, we partnered with Purple, the disruptor of mattress brands to create “The Most Boring Films Ever Made.”
Taking a people first, data driven approach, we crafted a series of slow watching, extremely long form videos that were filmed and broadcast LIVE on Facebook during the hours of 12am-4am EST (when people were at their most sleepless and likely glued to their mobile phones).
The project combined vertical video design and the power of FB live. We used the production as an opportunity to produce ancillary content, packaging the assets into a campaign that drove serious results for Purple, including 5X ROAS and a 2018 People’s Choice Webby Award for Best Use of Mobile Media.
